FREE PUBLIC FIREWOOD COLLECTION The Superior Ranger District will be opening the Trout Creek Campground for the public to gather and haul off free green firewood. To prepare for the summer camping season, the District has been felling multiple hazard trees within the campground. Felled trees are bucked into firewood or 6-foot lengths and are available to the public for taking. The Trout Creek Campground will be open to the public solely for firewood collection May 17-18 from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Forest Service employees will be on-site to assist with loading firewood. The campground is located 7 miles up Trout Creek Forest Road #250, Superior, MT 59872, just off I-90 Exit 47 taking Diamond Match Road to Trout Creek Road. You must have a valid Firewood permit; they are free of charge, and you can get them from the Superior Ranger District Office or your local Forest Service Office prior to collection.
