s Don't get caught in deep water. Listen up, boaters! The Clark Fork River is rising rapidly and will soon be spilling through gates on the Thompson Falls Dam. NorthWestern Energy strongly recommends that you do not use Thompson Falls Reservoir until the river flow drops below 24,000 cfs, which usually occurs around mid-July. CAUTION: The boat restraint, located at the upstream end of the closure area, has been removed until river flow subsides to allow large debris to pass. As a reminder, boating on the reservoir within 1,020' of the dam is prohibited year-round, by order of the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission. For more safety tips, visit NorthWesternEnergy.com.
