Don't forget your permit before doing work or construction on Avista property. Avista not only operates Noxon Rapids and Cabinet Gorge dams, we own much of the land surrounding the reservoir. For this reason, we have been tasked to protect it, while working with our neighbors to maintain the rural and rustic character of the area. If you own land that is adjacent to Avista property and would like to install a temporary recreation facility or do any activity on Avista property (e.g, trimming trees and shrubs, making a path, removing hazardous trees, installing docks, picnic tables, fire rings), you must first obtain permission and a permit from Avista. The Avista Recreation & Land Use Specialist willl visit with you to discuss the activity that you wish to do on Avista land and walk you through the process. This will ensure compliance and guidance on the adjacent landowner's part while making the process as efficient as possible. Our goal is to provide safe and open access to Avista project lands while protecting and maintaining the shoreline. You must have a permit prior to beginning any project on Avista land. To ensure compliance and efficiency please contact the Noxon Natural Resource office at (406) 847-1284.
