About

Carol is a Montana native who was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. Some of her cherished Montana memories include early years on her grandparents ranch “up the Blackfoot” and listening to her Grandma Mary playing music with many local bands. Carol spent her spare time in high school helping out with the family business. Carol and her husband, Tim, were married 43 years ago in Dillon, Montana. From there they moved to Trout Creek to operate a house log mill with Carol’s father. Later, Carol went on to work as a weigh mistress on the Thompson River for Champion International during their heyday when logs were so big a truck could be filled with just three logs! During this time they were also blessed with the birth of their son Anders who now lives in Missoula where he and his wife, Meg, own and operate their own business. Next, the Brooker family moved to Plains where Carol and Tim kept busy running a local building supply and laundromat, part of their 35 year legacy as business owners. Carol also served on the local school board for seven years. In 1994, Carol ran for and won her first term as county commissioner for Sanders County. She has been fortunate to serve the citizens of Sanders County ever since. In those 24 years, Carol has had the pleasure of working with so many good people: her fellow commissioners, a great road crew, and all the people at the Sanders County Courthouse who keep the county running. When not working, Carol enjoys being in the outdoors: hunting, hiking, fishing, skiing, or whatever it takes to be out there. She also loves to cook whether at home or for hundreds of folks during many of her son’s events.
