About

Our mission, as the people of the United Methodist Church of Plains and Paradise, is to actively, persistently, continually, and urgently provide the compassion, service, hope and love of Jesus Christ to our community and our world. The history of our churches begins on May 20, 1894. On that Sunday evening, just five years after Montana statehood, the Congregational Church of Horse Plains was formally organized. Eight charter members were received that night. In 1896, a church sanctuary was built to house the new congregation. Erected at the corner of what are now Meany and Hubbard streets, the sanctuary was dedicated on May 27. That building still stands as the fellowship hall of our church. The present sanctuary was constructed in 1904 and dedicated on November 13 of that year.
