MONTANA MOXIE MARKET is coming to St.Regis! This could provide another source of income for you!! There is a new business coming to St.Regis! By mid-April we hope to see the construction of a big, red barn on Highway 135. This is the site for Montana Moxie Market. We will be featuring Grown in Montana or Made in Montana. The focus for the first year will be on fresh or locally-made, licensed canned produce. So.f you need another source of income, why not expand your gardens and sell to the Moxie? We will buy your produce to be sold out of the barn and will be open 8am- 8pm 7 days a week during the summer tourist season. I am attempting to put this notice out early enough to catch people before they plan their garden. I would like to give you some tidbits to think about and consider when you are deciding whether or not to expand the outreach of your gardens. What do you grow well? Foods that are known to sell well at Farmers Markets. Vegetables include variety mixes of lettuces or green leafy salad greens, spinach, colors of chard, carrots, beans multiple color varieties, snow peas, sugar peas, beets have multiple color varieties, radishes, green onions, onions, potatoes, tomatoes have a huge variety. have fun!, and what can we say about peppers, hot/sweet/colors the variety is endless Fruits always sell well and can include strawberries, peaches, apricots, blueberries, raspberries and I am sure I have forgotten some! Ideas for gardeners selling produce. If you stagger the planting times of a crop, you will have fresh produce to sell for a longer period of time (each row two weeks apart for a particular item) Also, if you plant green beans, why not plant another color too? The current thought is to have a buying time early in the morning 3-4 times a week but this will remain a fluid idea as we see how this all shakes out. The schedule is to be completely open by Memorial Day but obviously hoping to start sooner than that! This project directorlowner is Marlys Schwaderer, Marlys from the pharmacy, Marlys, Michael and Nicholas's mom, Grandma Marlys, Marlys with the chickens..whatever title you know me by! If you want to be included in this venture or if you have any questions you can email at marlys@bigsky.net or text at 406-880-7483 FYI "moxie" means determination and perseverance!
