Dear Mineral County Citizens, On behalf of the County Commissioners, we'd like to share how proud we are of our Sheriff's Office regarding the St. Regis Travel Center incident 3/19 and express our gratitude to our officers and their dedication to community safety and service. Their readiness to act and put their lives on the line for others in a time of uncertainty shows how valuable they are to all of us. In a time of crisis, Mineral County continues to hold strong and support one another. We are equally as thankful for the services of DES, EMT, and fire departments that participated in this incident. The coordination and cooperation amongst services was phenomenal. We offer a sincere apology for our absence on the evening of 3/20 and the opportunity to come together; we were disturbed to learn of the event after the fact and intend to make sure such a community healing/gathering never escapes us in the future. Please know that all three of us stand in unison for the physical and emotional health of our county.
