DUMP SITES SOON TO REQUIRE COUNTY ID The Sanders County Refuse Sites (Plains, Thompson Falls, Trout Creek, Noxon and Heron) will soon require proof of county residence because of the problem developed by out-of-county and out-of-state dumping. The Refuse District Sites operate on Sanders County tax dollars. IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS 35 LICENSE PLATES, YOU WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF AND YOU WILL NOT REQUIRE A PERMIT STICKER. Those people living out-of-state but who have property in Sanders County, as well as residents who do not have the standard #35 plate on their vehicle will need to provide proof of county residency. (tax or utility bill, voter registration, etc.) A residential permit sticker will be given after proof of residency is shown at the Refuse site. Each household will be provided one sticker to be placed on their vehicle. Other vehicles from the same household can just show county residency when entering the site. The stickers are on order and soon will be available at the Refuse Sites. Out-of-county/state companies (e.g. construction, utilities) that have out-of-county or out-of-state plates and are doing jobs in Sanders County will be required to apply for a Special Use Permit to allow them to dispose of garbage at a Sanders County Refuse Site. They will be required to pay the $160 per year assessed Refuse Fee for the operational costs of our district as well as the per yardage fee, which is currently $10 per yard. The Special Use Permit will be good for one year. If your company fits this category, please call 827-6942. These TWO DIFFERENT PERMITS have become necessary because of the extreme difficulties that have developed with out-of-county dumping. The Refuse District Sites operate on Sanders County tax dollars, therefore: GOUNT SANDERS COUNTY WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY HOUSEHOLD REFUSE FROM OUT-OF-COUNTY ANDERS WITHOUT A SPECIAL USE PERMIT. PLEASE SEE THE REFUSE SITE NEAREST YOU FOR MONTANA ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR CALL 827-6942.
