In Montana, the County Attorney is the public prosecutor who represents their own County and the State of Montana in all criminal cases and civil matters occurring within their County. Sanders County Attorney’s Office prosecutes for the Sheriff ’s Office, City Police, the Fish Wildlife and Parks Wardens, Montana Highway Patrol, the Brand Inspector, the Department of Transportation, and others. The County attorney is prevented by law from giving legal advice to private citizens on civil matters
