Public Notice Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District Lolo National Forest Gates Open for Firewood Gathering The Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District will open gated roads on June 1, 2019 for firewood gathering through the summer months. The Following roads will be open June 1, 2019-September 1, 2019: . 18394 and 18396 (off of NFSR 881), near Big Rock Creek; .5582 plus spur roads 18379, 18380, and 18383, near Little Thompson River; and 877 plus spur road 16083 near West Fork of Crow Creek. Cutting and/or possession of cedar is not allowed. Roads will not be brushed or cleared by the Forest Service prior to opening for firewood gathering Firewood permits may be purchased at the District office located at 408 Clayton St. Plains, MT.
