The Town of Hot Springs, Town of Plains, and the City of Thompson Falls are holding non- partisan elections and no declaration of party is required. If required, the 2023 Municipal Primary Election will be held on September 12, 2023 and the Municipal General Election will be held on November 7, 2023. These elections will be conducted as All Mail Ballot Elections. Per MCA 13-1-403(4) Except as provided in subsection (5)(b) and unless otherwise specifically provided by law, if the number of candidates filing for election is equal to or less than the number of positions to be filled, the election administrator shall notify the governing body of the local government in writing that the election is not necessary and the governing body may by resolution cancel the election.
