Ventenata Ecology and Management Workshop When: Monday, September 30, 2019 Where: Sanders County Fairgrounds Pavilion, Plains, MT Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Location: Meet at the fairgrounds pavilion Invasive annual grasses like ventenata are continuing to devastate the west by increasing fire frequency and de- creasing forage production, ecosystem diversity, wildlife habitat, and pollinator habitat. No Treatment Treated What are the threats of Ventenata to Sanders County, grass hay, ranching, recreation, and the ecology of Western Montana? How do we successfully limit the spread and manage existing populations? Workshop Details Ventenata has been recently added to the Montana Noxious Weed List because of the se- rious threat that it poses. In the workshop we will discuss the addition of Ventenata on the MT state noxious weed list and local ecology and threat of Ventenata in Sanders County We will have a presentation on control and management of Ventenata, followed by a Sanders County Commissioner leading a discussion on the state of Ventenata in Sanders County and where we go from here. This is a very serious threat to agricultural producers, landowners, recreationists, sportsmen/women, and anyone else who values life in Sanders County and Montana.
